Jordan Burke
Jordan Burke is the Director of Marketing and Operations for the Avila Foundation, host of The Devil is in the Details podcast, and creator of Do The Harder Thing on Instagram. A former police officer, he now dedicates his work to forming Catholics with clear teaching, practical spiritual tools, and a steady approach to virtue and spiritual warfare. His aim is simple: comfort the afflicted, challenge the comfortable, and help ordinary Catholics become battle-ready saints—one hard choice at a time. Most importantly, he is a husband and father.
"A time will come when the decisive battle between the kingdom of Christ and Satan will be over marriage and the family. And those who will work for the good of the family will experience persecution and tribulation." ~ Sr. Lucia of Fatima
Something is happening to families that cannot be ignored. Anxiety. Anger. Division. Confusion. Crisis. Spiritual heaviness. Many feel the pressure in their homes, marriages, and relationships, yet struggle to understand what they are facing.
This is not merely a cultural or political struggle. There is a deeper battle at work, one that touches the heart of the family itself.
What will we do to protect what is most precious to us?
We are not defenseless. Christ has not left us unequipped for this fight. Yet many of us have never been taught how to recognize the battle or use the spiritual weapons already placed in our hands.
For that reason, this year’s Avila Summit will focus on Spiritual Warfare and the Family.
Through three days of keynotes, breakout sessions, and Q&A, we will explore the realities of spiritual warfare with clarity, hope, practical wisdom, and deep trust in Christ’s victory.

St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness
and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
What People Are Saying
About Our Events
So to see people coming here wanting to learn more about their faith, for a bishop, it's very edifying.
Bishop James S. Wall
Bishop of Gallup
We need things like this to be inspired, to renew our faith.
Helen Biller
Attendee from Colorado
It's wonderful to be with people who are like-minded, who understand what the call is. We can be better disciples and apostles if we're out there having been refreshed by having been together. I think Avila is empowering people to know more about how to do the work that they're called to do.
Brad Young
Attendee from Georgia
The whole purpose to talk about our faith is a holy friendship together in Christ.
Dr. Anthony Lilles
Academic Dean, Avila Institute
It's like a touchstone for inspiration to live our life. They're experts in their field of what they've done, and they've done a lot of the research for us regular folks.
Barbara Parrish
Attendee from Rhode Island
It's a very good feeling of knowing that there are people who think like me. Every one of them had something to do with what I'm interested in, something that I believe in.
Anna Marie Fernandes
Attendee from Georgia
Hearing these great speakers using real-life stories, so everything they're talking about is not something that's made up, pie-in-the-sky stuff. This is real rubber-hits-the-ground stuff.
Luis Sample
Attendee from Georgia
Well, it's very important to get outside of ourselves and to be in communion with one another.
Tracy Johnson
Attendee from Louisiana
I think that this event is so important for younger Catholics, just to be with other young people who are on fire with their faith.
Stephanie Roberts
Attendee from Kansas
I think for young Catholics, a community like this, being part of the Avila Institute or taking classes or anything like that with them is beneficial for them because it brings them together with other people around the country.
